Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, demons, and dark forces growing in influence within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the main group to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the events of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his debts and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the team reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to form the Seekers and Planners parties.
Viewers can expect learning which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
